Tracking Classroom Cultural and Language Ideologies
Description
There are many strategies for grouping English learners from academic to language abilities in a heterogenous or homogenous pairing. But unique to English learners grouping is to consider their classmates attitudes and beliefs on culture and language. This module describes how a teacher can create and use surveys and observations to purposefully group English learners in an additive multicultural and multilingual environment. Additionally, teachers can learn how to track the beliefs and attitudes to monitor developing a culturally and linguistically rich environment.
